What you'll do

• Examine building permit applications, blueprints, specifications, surveys, product approvals, and shop drawings for code compliance
• prepare reports and notices of correction
• meet with design professionals and contractors about technical code issues
• inspect buildings and facilities
• respond to code and review inquiries
• maintain records
• review residential and commercial permits
• explain and enforce applicable codes
• issue notices and citations for violations
• research complaints and help resolve customer service issues.
