The Thoracic Surgery Physician role is onsite in Cooperstown, NY. The base salary range is $550,000–$650,000, with a sign-on bonus of up to $100,000. Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated health system serving an eight-county region and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. The physician diagnoses and treats thoracic conditions, performs surgical procedures, and provides preoperative and postoperative care. The role contributes to multidisciplinary patient care, clinical research, quality improvement, and medical education.

What you'll do

• Perform minimally invasive and complex thoracic surgeries
• diagnose and treat conditions affecting the chest and thoracic cavity
• collaborate with surgical and medical specialists on treatment plans
• provide preoperative and postoperative care
• participate in clinical research and quality improvement
• educate patients and families
• participate in medical student and general surgery residency education.
