Software Safety Engineer

The Software Safety Engineer is an onsite role based in Houston, TX, with compensation not specified. Axiom Space is the principal provider of commercial human spaceflight services and developer of the Axiom Station. This role exists to interface with design, safety, and reliability engineers to plan, document, and execute strategies for eliminating or minimizing risk in software systems. The engineer ensures the safety of crew and mission success by analyzing software architecture and implementation.

What you'll do

• Conduct system-level safety analysis
• perform hazard analyses on software architecture
• define safe computer control strategies
• participate in design and verification/validation reviews
• coordinate with systems engineering and V&V personnel
• prepare technical documentation and presentations.

What we're looking for

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related technical discipline.

Experience

Broad background in space systems engineering including space vehicle design and architecture.
