The Senior Designer / Architect role is in office in Emeryville, CA, with a Monday–Friday schedule. The annual salary range is $95,680–$124,800. HDR Remodeling is an East Bay design-build firm specializing in whole-house renovations, kitchen and bath remodeling, and garage and basement conversions. The role leads residential projects from initial concept through signed construction agreements, balancing design quality, function, and budget. It supports the firm’s start-to-finish remodeling process by producing plans, guiding client selections, coordinating budgets and trade bids, and supporting the transition from design to production.

What you'll do

• Lead onsite discovery and document existing structural, plumbing, and electrical conditions
• produce architectural drawing sets and 3D perspectives for structurally complex projects
• apply California Building Codes and Title 24
• guide client selections of fixtures, finishes, and materials
• develop and revise project budgets
• prepare trade-walk packets and scopes of work
• manage cabinetry layout through delivery tracking
• support design-to-production handoffs and key installations
• mentor junior and mid-level designers.
