Job overview

The Executive-in-Residence — SMU FinTech Coalition role is hybrid in Dallas, TX, for a part-time engagement of approximately 8–10 hours per week from November 2026 through June 2027. Compensation is a flat $1,800 per month. MassChallenge connects startups, experts, corporations, and communities, and this role supports the SMU FinTech Accelerator and its financial innovation partnership. The EIR advises founders on regulatory readiness, financial institution pilots, and fintech technology, while helping them build connections with banks and other financial institutions. The role also contributes to accelerator curriculum, mentorship, program events, and progress assessments to strengthen startup readiness and the regional fintech ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Advise founders on licensing, bank partnerships, AML/KYC, consumer protection, and data privacy
• coach startups through financial-institution vendor onboarding
• provide guidance on payment rails, core banking, APIs, and data security
• mentor founders
• make targeted introductions
• contribute to curriculum and program events
• complete startup readiness assessments.
