Job overview

The Mechanical Designer / Design Technician III role is onsite in Corning, NY, with a Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. schedule. Compensation is based on experience. This is a W-2 contract assignment through Computer Task Group supporting a Fortune 500 client. The role develops complete, manufacturable designs from concepts and engineering direction through procurement, fabrication, assembly, and deployment. It combines mechanical design with hands-on prototyping, installation, assembly, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support.

What you'll do

• Create 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing and fabrication drawings, bills of materials, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks
• manage revisions and specifications in SolidWorks PDM
• select components and commercial equipment
• support procurement and coordinate with suppliers and fabricators
• apply tolerancing, fit selection, GD&T, materials, manufacturability, and assembly methods
• support prototype development, assembly, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning
• use common inspection equipment
• and collaborate with engineers, technicians, manufacturing personnel, and suppliers.
