Law Division Intern

Job overview

The Law Division Intern role is hybrid in Winthrop, MA, at Deer Island; telework may be available with prior approval for up to 50% of work time. Compensation is $23 per hour. The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority delivers drinking water to three million residents and works to protect public resources. The intern conducts legal research, analyzes legislation and case law, and drafts legal memoranda and court documents under the supervision of Law Division attorneys. The work supports the division’s legal counsel, litigation, and administrative matters; attending hearings with attorneys may also be part of the internship.

What you'll do

• Conduct legal research
• review, analyze, and summarize federal, state, and local legislation, laws, regulations, and case law
• draft memoranda, pleadings, court filings, and briefs
• summarize legal findings
• perform related duties
• may attend hearings with Law Division attorneys.
