Class A Short-Haul Driver

Job overview

The Class A Short-Haul Driver role is onsite in the York, PA reporting area, paying $30 per hour. TransForce is seeking drivers for regional transportation operations across South Central Pennsylvania and surrounding states. The driver operates a 53-foot dry van on short-haul routes within approximately 200 miles of York, completing about two to three deliveries per day. Freight is no-touch and assignments include drop-and-hook; additional duties include chocking and sweeping trailers when needed, inspections, paperwork, and dispatch communication. Five days per week are scheduled, with weekend availability preferred and start times between midnight and 4 a.m.

What you'll do

• Safely operate a CDL-A tractor-trailer on short-haul routes
• deliver freight throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding service areas
• complete approximately two to three deliveries per day
• pick up return loads when assigned
• chock and secure trailers
• sweep trailers as needed
• perform inspections
• maintain paperwork and communicate with dispatch.
