Job overview

The Early Head Start Teacher role is onsite in Troy, NY, with compensation of $20–$22 per hour for 35 hours per week. CEO’s Early Head Start/Head Start program provides comprehensive early childhood services to children from six weeks to age five and their families in Rensselaer County. The teacher plans and implements developmentally appropriate learning for infants and toddlers, integrating Head Start standards and applicable regulations. The role also supports children’s development through positive guidance, family partnerships, classroom routines, and collaboration with special service providers.

What you'll do

  • Promote development and learning for children aged six weeks to three years
  • implement curriculum and prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans
  • use positive guidance strategies
  • build relationships with staff, families, and children and create an inclusive classroom
  • conduct two home visits and two parent-teacher conferences each year
  • complete required records and assessments
  • use daily routines to promote learning
  • collaborate with special service providers and implement IEP/IFSP goals when applicable
  • maintain confidentiality.
