The Lead Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher role is onsite in Altamonte Springs, FL, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pay is $16–$17 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, with incentive pay. ELSSA is a family-owned childcare center whose mission is to provide a nurturing, inclusive environment where children learn and grow. The teacher leads developmentally appropriate learning and classroom activities that prepare children for kindergarten. The role supports children’s language, pre-reading, pre-math, social, cognitive, and emotional development while collaborating with families and other educators.
What you'll do
- Coordinate and implement curriculum and sensory-rich lesson plans based on early learning standards
- model and coach
- plan individual and group activities
- maintain a professional development plan and follow facility policies and state regulations
- encourage language, sharing, self-regulation, independent feeding, and self-help skills
- track children’s progress and report to parents
- collaborate with educators
- maintain a clean and safe classroom. The posting requires a high school diploma and/or related degree, Florida DCF 45 hours with VPK endorsements and a CDA, two years of early childhood training or experience, and specified background and certification requirements.
