Operating Room Assistant – Pre-Operation/Recovery

The Operating Room Assistant – Pre-Operation/Recovery role is onsite in Titusville, FL, with a 5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. full-time schedule and 40 standard hours per week. The position supports Parrish Medical Center’s Pre-Operation/Recovery department and operating-room teams. Under the supervision of surgery leadership and operating-room nursing staff, the assistant helps prepare patients and rooms for procedures, maintain supplies and equipment, and support safe, efficient room turnover. The role also contributes to infection control, patient transport and positioning, and departmental quality and safety practices.

What you'll do

• Decontaminate operating-room suites and support room turnover
• restock supplies and maintain PAR levels
• transport, transfer, and position patients safely
• assist with patient preparation
• manage environmental needs including blood and body fluids
• run time-sensitive products such as stat labs
• clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment
• follow infection-control, PPE, and safety practices
• support quality initiatives and performance-improvement projects.
