The Group Counselor - Intensive Outpatient Program role is onsite in Providence, RI. Compensation is $28–$32 per hour plus a bonus structure. The counselor supports Behavioral Health Group’s Intensive Outpatient Program, part of its opioid addiction treatment services. The role helps patients access and remain engaged in appropriate substance-use treatment through admissions, assessments, counseling, case management, and crisis support. It delivers structured evidence-based programming and coordinates with clinical and support teams to maintain compliant care and documentation.

What you'll do

• Represent the IOP program
• collaborate with clinical teams, case managers, and support staff
• conduct admissions using ASAM Level 2.1 criteria and review assessments
• explain program requirements and encourage patient engagement
• develop assessments and treatment plans
• provide evidence-based counseling, targeted case management, and crisis support
• deliver Matrix Model, Seeking Safety, and CBT curriculum at least three hours per day, four days per week
• conduct individual counseling
• maintain compliant documentation and confidentiality
• participate in outreach and required training.

Why this role

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–1:30 PM, with a rotating Saturday shift. The posting requires a Rhode Island CADC, LCDP, LADC, or LCADC license and lists additional counselor credentials; candidates not fully licensed must be enrolled in or willing to begin formal study toward licensure.
