Safety Lead – Care Campus

Job overview

The Safety Lead – Care Campus role is hybrid, with regular onsite presence at the Skid Row Care Campus in Los Angeles, CA and occasional travel among Los Angeles-area locations. St. Joseph Center provides integrated social services, and the Care Campus connects people experiencing homelessness with hygiene facilities, case management, health and behavioral-health services, and housing resources. The working lead coordinates shift-level safety assignments and coverage, maintains a visible presence across the campus and designated perimeter, and provides first-level leadership during incidents and emergencies. The role supports a safe, welcoming, trauma-informed environment through staff coordination, de-escalation, documentation, and escalation of significant concerns.

What you'll do

• Coordinate safety staff assignments, posts, breaks, coverage, briefings, and handoffs
• monitor campus and perimeter conditions, including Crocker Street
• respond to emerging safety concerns
• model trauma-informed engagement, conflict resolution, and de-escalation
• coach staff
• reinforce documentation and safety procedures
• escalate significant concerns to the Safety Manager.
