What you'll do

• Inspect, repair, and overhaul trucks, buses, and heavy equipment
• test-drive vehicles
• diagnose malfunctions and discuss diagnoses with customers
• interpret diagnostic results
• inspect brakes, steering, transmissions, and engines
• perform routine maintenance
• repair or replace mechanical and electrical components
• verify repairs with test drives.
