The Sign Language Interpreter — Third-Grade Classroom role is onsite in Aurora, CO. Compensation is not specified. The interpreter supports four Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a third-grade classroom at Lansing Elementary, in accordance with their IEP requirements. The role provides consistent interpreting throughout the instructional day and accompanies a student on school transportation at the beginning of the day and, on certain days, after school. The interpreter collaborates with teachers and school staff to support students’ access to classroom instruction and school activities.

What you'll do

• Interpret for four Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a third-grade classroom
• meet the designated student at home at 7:00 AM and ride the school bus to Lansing Elementary
• provide interpreting during the instructional day
• on applicable days, accompany the student home by bus at approximately 2:30 PM
• communicate and collaborate with the educational team
• follow school policies, IEP requirements, and professional standards.

Why this role

CDE authorization/certification is required. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:15 PM. Educational K–12 and Deaf/Hard of Hearing student experience are preferred. Approved Uber expenses for returning to retrieve a personal vehicle may be submitted for reimbursement.
