Job overview

The Lead Support Specialist role is onsite in Springfield, MA, with pay of $20–$22 per hour. The listed schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m.–11 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. The role supports the Mental Health Association’s Integrated Community Living department. The role helps participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism build independence and community engagement through person-centered daily support, health and safety assistance, advocacy, and service-plan documentation.

What you'll do

  • Support daily living, personal care, and skill development
  • facilitate transportation, social activities, and access to community resources
  • support health needs, including medication administration under MAP standards
  • assist with financial skills and document expenditures
  • respond to emergencies according to agency protocols
  • advocate for participants and liaise with families and providers
  • contribute to Individual Service Plans and maintain accurate records
  • follow safety procedures and participate in training, meetings, and supervision.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least six months of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass and maintain MAP, CPR, and First Aid certifications. A related college degree is preferred.
