Job overview
The Energy Analyst, Building Energy Modeling role is based in PEG’s Fairfax, VA office, with a hybrid office/remote option after the 90-day performance review. Compensation is not specified. PEG works on energy efficiency, engineering, environmental, and management consulting, including home energy ratings and building performance programs. The analyst models building energy use and interprets construction and inspection information to produce energy-efficiency summaries and compliance reports. The work supports PEG’s building energy modeling team and its efforts to improve building efficiency and meet program requirements.
What you'll do
- Use energy modeling software to prepare energy-efficiency summaries for homes across multiple states
- interpret residential construction components and assess compliance with HERS, ENERGY STAR, LEED, green building, and building code programs
- prepare projected and confirmed pre- and post-construction compliance reports
- review inspection reports, blueprints, and energy audit data
- identify and communicate discrepancies
- coordinate with management and project stakeholders
- and maintain project data and documentation in Excel, SharePoint, and internal portals. Complete RESNET HERS Modeler Certification within 90 days of employment.
