Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician

Job overview

The Field Service Heavy Equipment Technician role is home-based, supporting customers throughout Oklahoma and the Dallas–Fort Worth region, and reports to the Belmont, OH branch. Compensation is not specified. Newman Tractor sells, rents, and services heavy construction equipment for construction, utility, mining, agricultural, pipeline, and energy customers. The technician diagnoses, repairs, and maintains heavy equipment at customer sites. The role uses service history and telematics to prepare for repairs, restore equipment functionality, document work, and help customers maintain reliable equipment.

What you'll do

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment
• perform repairs and scheduled maintenance
• inspect equipment and safety systems
• use diagnostic tools, telematics, ERP service history, and fault reports
• communicate with customers about symptoms and repairs
• prepare parts, tools, and safety gear
• document labor, parts, diagnostics, and recommendations
• follow safety and DOT requirements
• perform daily vehicle inspections.
