What you'll do

• Assess and prepare patients before surgery
• verify identity, procedure, site, consent, allergies, and preoperative information
• prepare the operating room, instruments, supplies, and equipment
• maintain aseptic technique
• assist the anesthesiologist or anesthetist and surgical team within scope of practice
• complete and document counts
• label specimens and medications
• document patient care
• accompany patients to PACU
• clean and restock rooms and equipment.
