The Patient Care Technician - 6th Floor Med/Surg - Nights role is an onsite position based in Utica, NY. This role exists to assist the nursing staff in the provision of basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients, including personal hygiene, activities of daily living, and mobility. The technician also assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment and may transport medications as authorized.

What you'll do

• Under the direction/supervision of a charge nurse, assists the nursing staff in provision of basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients, i.e., personal hygiene, activities of daily living and mobility.
• Assists in the maintenance of safe and clean environments.
• May be required to transport medications as defined and authorized by Pharmacy Services.
• Correctly identifies patients prior to performing interventions or care.
• Reports any changes or concerns of patients and families to the primary caregiver.
• Observes, collects, documents and reports intake and output, vital signs and weights.
• Provides bathing, oral and hair care, bed making, ambulation and positioning, and toileting.
