Performing Arts Costume Designer and Costume Studio Manager

The Performing Arts Costume Designer and Costume Studio Manager is an onsite role in Newberg, OR, with a schedule of up to 30 hours per week for 10 months, July 15 through May 15. Pay is $22.94–$30.59 per hour. The position supports George Fox University’s Performing Arts Department and its theatre productions. The role designs costumes and manages the costume studio so productions have costumes prepared, maintained, and ready for rehearsals and performances. It also guides student and temporary staff, collaborates with production teams, and contributes to students’ development through hands-on supervision and mentoring.

What you'll do

• Manage the costume studio, storage, supplies, inventory, equipment, and budget
• oversee costume construction, alterations, repairs, and cleaning
• design costumes for two theatre productions per year
• create sketches, renderings, research, and technical drawings
• collaborate with guest designers and mentor student designers
• attend production meetings, fittings, rehearsals, and performances
• schedule and oversee backstage costume support
• supervise student and temporary staff
• support additional department events and coordinate costume rentals and loans as time allows.
