Counselor, Substance Use Recovery

The Counselor role is onsite in West Kill, NY, with compensation of $60,000–$70,000 per year. BriteLife Recovery works to support people living with substance use and co-occurring disorders and their families. Under the Clinical Director’s supervision, the Counselor provides clinical services and interventions that support wellbeing, personal growth, and sustained recovery. Group therapy, assessment, documentation, and collaboration with the clinical team contribute to clients’ treatment and recovery goals.

What you'll do

• Facilitate group therapy
• document services in the electronic medical record within required timeframes
• participate in multidisciplinary meetings as assigned
• provide crisis intervention as needed
• assess, plan, and deliver substance use treatment services
• screen for intoxication, withdrawal, safety risks, and co-occurring mental health issues
• follow regulatory and compliance standards.

Why this role

Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM; bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health-related field required; working toward licensure and/or drug and alcohol certification; master’s degree, certification, and clinical license strongly preferred.
