Direct Support Counselor — Third Shift, Weekend Only

The Direct Support Counselor role is onsite in Indianola, IA. Compensation is $21.50 per hour, with an eligible attendance incentive of an additional $1.50 per hour when stated attendance conditions are met. The role supports ELEVATE’s mission to help members make meaningful progress toward their best lives. Working in an intensive residential support home, the counselor provides daily oversight and assistance to clients with disabilities and/or mental health conditions. The role supports personal goals, daily living, safety, and community involvement while completing required documentation and medication-related duties when certified.

What you'll do

• Provide health, safety, protective supervision, and support during the shift
• assist clients with personal goals and daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, and hygiene
• administer and document medications when certified
• implement behavior intervention plans when warranted
• accompany clients to appointments and errands
• report abuse allegations, unsafe conditions, and changes in client circumstances
• complete shift documentation and required training
• maintain client confidentiality.

Why this role

Third shift is Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 PM–8:00 AM. High school education or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required; at least one year of experience supporting people with mental illness or multi-occurring conditions is required. Medication manager training is required.
