Heating Service Technician

Job overview

The Heating Service Technician role is field-based and onsite, based out of Essex Junction, VT. Compensation is negotiable; no numeric pay range is specified. The technician supports Alliance Group’s residential and commercial HVAC and mechanical service work. The role maintains, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs heating and related systems, including boilers and oil and propane burners. Preventive maintenance, accurate equipment documentation, and clear customer communication help keep systems operating and service work organized.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot service issues and obtain replacement parts
• calibrate HVAC/R systems to manufacturer recommendations
• perform and document preventive maintenance
• maintain vehicle stock, tools, parts, and safety equipment
• explain issues, timelines, and resolutions to customers
• document installed equipment and measurements
• maintain a clean work vehicle and work environment.

Why this role

Requires 3–5 years of HVAC experience; NH and/or VT gas license and EPA certification are preferred. U.S. citizenship or a valid U.S. work permit is mandatory.
