The Audio Data Collection and Acoustic Measurement Intern role is onsite in Cambridge, MA. Pay is $4,000–$8,000 per month. Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) conducts research in spatial audio processing, room acoustics, and machine learning, and the intern’s datasets will support that work. The intern collaborates with MERL researchers to design and conduct acoustic measurement experiments, configure audio systems, and develop data acquisition and analysis tools. The work helps produce datasets for ongoing research in immersive audio and related fields.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with researchers to design and conduct acoustic measurement experiments
• record room impulse responses
• configure multichannel audio recording and playback systems
• develop tools for data acquisition and analysis. Projects may involve microphone and loudspeaker arrays, spatial audio recording and reproduction, Dante audio networking, and automated measurement and data collection workflows.
