Job overview

The Groundsperson role is onsite in Wayland, MI. Pay is $17 per hour. Xylem I LLC’s vegetation management work includes clearing brush and trees and supporting storm work when needed. The role helps crews complete job-site work safely by clearing undergrowth, handling debris and equipment, and protecting coworkers and the public around work areas. It also supports site cleanup and basic maintenance of assigned trucks and equipment.

What you'll do

• Follow and help enforce safe practices
• clear brush and undergrowth using handsaws, pole saws, pruners, and chainsaws
• load and unload logs, brush, and debris and feed brush into a chipper
• use hand lines to lower limbs and equipment
• clean job sites
• carry and store materials and tools
• set up road signs and flag traffic
• drive trucks or operate equipment as assigned
• perform basic maintenance
• perform storm work as needed. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather, handle physical work on uneven terrain, and obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
