Technician II-1, Vehicle Maintenance

Job overview

The Technician II-1, Vehicle Maintenance role is onsite in Philadelphia, PA, and pays $28.45 per hour based on the union collective bargaining agreement. First Student safely transports students and passengers to their destinations. The technician performs routine and some non-routine maintenance and repairs on buses, vans, and related vehicles, helping keep the fleet safe and serviceable. The role also documents work, supports inspections and road calls, and may provide informal guidance to Technician I staff.

What you'll do

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including tires, brakes, engine tune-ups, suspension, drivetrain, and transmission work
• document maintenance and parts usage
• assist with preventive and safety inspections
• diagnose vehicle and equipment issues
• evaluate completed work
• assist with road calls and emergency services
• maintain shop equipment and cleanliness
• move vehicles safely between work areas.
