Infrastructure and Security Engineer

The Infrastructure and Security Engineer works in a hybrid arrangement in Victor, NY. Compensation is $110,000–$130,000 per year. The role is part of Progressive Machine & Design’s IT Operations team and supports the company’s automation and engineering operations. The engineer leads infrastructure architecture and cybersecurity work, improving the reliability and security of systems while guiding major technical projects, resolving complex issues, and strengthening the capabilities of the IT team.

What you'll do

• Lead infrastructure and security architecture, engineering, implementation, and modernization
• support enterprise networking, servers, virtualization, storage, data center, and cloud infrastructure
• improve backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
• lead cybersecurity controls, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and incident response
• support NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC initiatives
• lead major technical projects
• provide technical direction and escalation support
• develop automation and integrations
• maintain technical documentation
• mentor and cross-train IT staff
• participate in planned after-hours or weekend maintenance and incident support when needed.
