Mining Engineer

Job overview

The Mining Engineer will assist the Mining Group in all aspects of mine engineering and mining operations. This onsite role is based in Costa Mesa, CA, with a salary range of $105,000–$135,000 per year, supporting the company's mining department. The role exists to optimize mining operations, develop mine plans, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. It contributes to the company's goals by improving mining efficiency and managing resource development projects.

What you'll do

• Assist in performing mine engineering and mine planning activities
• Learn and administer all company policies and safety procedures
• Work and communicate with other engineering disciplines
• Develop an understanding of the cement and aggregate manufacturing process
• Estimate mineral deposits and develop life of mine design
• Develop and revise one, five, and life of mine plans using Surpac and MineSched
• Oversee mining projects such as exploratory drilling
• Analyze and evaluate mining operations
• Perform surveying and plant inventory functions
• Interface with plant, corporate personnel, and contractors
• Perform exploration work
• Work with the environmental division
• Operate as a commercial drone pilot.
