The Project Manager, Water Treatment Plants role is based onsite at Story Construction’s Ames, IA office, with regular visits to assigned projects across central Iowa and the state. The project manager leads water and wastewater treatment plant projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating design, construction, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project teams. The role supports safe, quality delivery aligned with design intent, contract requirements, and owner objectives.

What you'll do

• Manage treatment plant projects from preconstruction through completion
• support early design, constructability reviews, estimating, and GMP development
• oversee construction phases
• maintain schedules, budgets, and forecasts
• lead owner, engineer, and subcontractor meetings
• manage subcontractor and supplier selection and performance
• coordinate field issues, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• conduct site visits
• oversee project documentation
• lead project teams
• ensure environmental and regulatory compliance
• prepare project reports and updates.
