Payroll Technician

Job overview

The Payroll Technician role is onsite in Salinas, CA, and pays $25–$27 per hour. The technician works with the Payroll Manager and Payroll team to process weekly and biweekly payrolls accurately and on time for Tanimura & Antle. The role reviews payroll records, validates time and break data, audits entries, processes payroll and per-diem payments, reconciles payments, and responds to employee questions. Accurate processing and secure recordkeeping support compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

What you'll do

• Collect and review payroll records
• validate hours and meal and rest break compliance
• enter timekeeping data
• audit payroll entries and reports
• process weekly and biweekly payrolls, final pay, and per-diem payments
• reconcile payments and prepare checks
• maintain payroll records
• answer employee questions about W-2s, pay, taxes, and deductions.

Why this role

High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Five years of payroll processing experience is listed among preferred qualifications; English-Spanish bilingual and biliterate ability is also preferred.
