The Preschool Teacher — Head Start, Ages 3–4 role is an onsite, full-time position in Hamlet, NC. Starting pay is $18.65 per hour, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role supports UCCA Head Start’s work with children and families in the community. The teacher plans developmentally appropriate activities and creates engaging learning environments for young children. The role supports children’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development while partnering with families and classroom colleagues and maintaining required records and program standards.

What you'll do

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities
• create learning environments and functional learning centers
• monitor and assess children’s development
• maintain classroom and assessment records
• partner with families through conferences, communication, and home visits
• supervise children in classroom, outdoor, and meal settings
• collaborate with assistant teachers, specialists, and support staff
• comply with Head Start Performance Standards and CACFP requirements.
