The Housing Specialist is an in-person, full-time role in Norfolk, VA. Compensation is $46,500 annually. LGBT Life Center serves LGBTQ+ communities and people affected by HIV through health and wellness services, supportive housing, food programs, education, and advocacy. The role provides client-centered housing assistance and case management to help individuals and families obtain and maintain stable housing. It supports housing program compliance and coordinated service delivery through eligibility reviews, inspections, documentation, payment processing, and community partnerships.

What you'll do

• Conduct housing program intakes, eligibility assessments, recertifications, and interim reviews
• explain HUD and agency requirements
• assist with housing search and placement
• provide case management and stabilization support
• advocate with landlords
• conduct housing inspections
• maintain participant files and HMIS records
• calculate rent and subsidies
• process housing-related payments
• prepare reports
• and represent the organization at community meetings.
