Head Start Food Service Assistant

The Head Start Food Service Assistant role is onsite in Lincoln, NE, and starting pay is $15.99 per hour. The position supports meal service at Community Action Head Start’s K Street and 26th Street centers, which serve children and families through an early childhood program. What you'll do

• Assist with planning and implementing daily meals and snacks
• prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and/or afternoon snacks to classrooms
• follow USDA meal requirements and allergy and food restrictions
• clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and preparation areas
• label, store, and dispose of food according to regulations
• support nutrition education and consult with staff on nutrition projects, healthy eating, family-style meals, and CACFP guidelines.
