New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN) in the HCA Nurse Residency Program at HCA Healthcare in Okeechobee, FL. This is an onsite position. Compensation is not specified. HCA Healthcare is committed to the growth and development of its future nurses. This paid, year-long program provides hands-on experience to develop clinical and critical thinking skills. Residents receive advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulations, and mentoring to support their transition from student to registered nurse.

What you'll do

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
  • Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
