Mechanical Estimator, Commercial Construction

The Mechanical Estimator role is onsite in the Kansas City, MO area. Compensation is $110,000–$150,000 per year. The position supports a commercial mechanical subcontractor’s estimating work for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal projects. The estimator develops detailed project estimates, evaluates plans and specifications, and gathers vendor and subcontractor pricing to prepare bids. The work supports accurate project budgeting, competitive proposals, and a clear handoff to project management when work is awarded.

What you'll do

• Prepare estimates for commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal projects
• perform quantity takeoffs and build bills of materials using estimating software
• review plans and specifications in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP
• solicit and level vendor and subcontractor quotes
• prepare scope letters, qualifications, and bid proposals
• support value engineering and design-build budgeting
• hand awarded jobs to project management with schedule of values and buyout plan.
