The Behavioral Health Assistant/Driver – Detox and Inpatient role is onsite at Horizon Village’s detox and stabilization center in Buffalo, NY. Pay is $18.82–$19.50 per hour. The role supports patients at the detox and inpatient program. The assistant helps maintain patient safety and supports recovery through admissions and discharges, rounds, screenings, group activities, patient transportation, and patient-centered responses to behavior. The role contributes to the program’s care and treatment services.

What you'll do

• Assist with patient admissions and discharges
• conduct hourly building rounds and room searches
• administer toxicology screenings
• supervise wellness and family group activities
• guide patients through recovery challenges
• address patient behaviors using a patient-centered approach
• and transport patients as needed. The schedule is Sunday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Requirements include an associate degree and one year of behavioral health or healthcare experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent and two years of such experience, plus a valid New York State driver’s license and three years of licensed driving experience.
