Job overview

The Grades 6–8 Math Facilitator / Coach role is hybrid, with onsite work and some remote work, and requires weekly travel to Oakland, CA. Compensation is paid by day rate: $350 for less than 2 hours, $500 for less than 3 hours, $1,000 for less than 6 hours, or $1,150 for less than 8 hours; paid training and onboarding are included, and work hours are not guaranteed. Teaching Lab’s Program department delivers teacher professional learning intended to strengthen instruction and student achievement. The contractor facilitates professional learning and provides instructional coaching to educators and school leaders, focusing on high-quality instructional materials and research-based practices. The work supports teacher growth and student outcomes through coaching, collaborative learning, feedback, and reflection.

What you'll do

• Design and deliver professional development sessions, use participant feedback to adjust sessions, provide tailored one-to-one coaching and group learning in person and virtually, build collaborative relationships with educators and leaders, and support data collection, reporting, and reflection.
• Expertise includes grades 6–8 math, Illustrative Math curricula, and California Common Core State Standards.
