Job overview

The MRI Technologist role is onsite in Royal Oak, MI, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM and 32–40 hours per week. Compensation is not specified. The technologist supports Regional Medical Imaging’s diagnostic imaging services. The role operates MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images while guiding patients through examinations and maintaining safety in the magnetic-field environment. Accurate screening, positioning, protocol execution, and image review help provide reliable studies for radiologists and referring physicians.

What you'll do

• Interview patients and explain MRI procedures
• screen for implanted objects and devices and obtain clearance information when needed
• position patients and monitor their comfort and safety
• perform studies according to radiologist or referring-physician protocols
• review images for coverage, quality, and motion
• obtain IV access and perform injections as needed
• verify patient and exam information
• enter scan parameters
• use RIS and PACS
• create and import DICOM CDs
• maintain a safe work area according to MRI safety guidance.

Why this role

Requires ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology with advanced MRI certification, or an Associate in Applied Science and ARRT registration as an MRI Technologist. If not MRI-registered, the advanced ARRT certification exam must be passed within one year of starting.
