Hospital Security Officer — Flexible Hospital Coverage

Job overview

The Hospital Security Officer role is onsite in the Pittsburgh, PA area, with compensation of $19 per hour. Officers provide security services at Allegheny Health Network hospitals, safeguarding healthcare staff, patients, members, and visitors. The role exists to monitor hospital premises, deter and respond to safety and security concerns, and provide professional assistance to people at the facilities. Officers may be asked to assist nursing staff with patient restraints or escort staff to the morgue.

What you'll do

• Observe for crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity
• patrol on foot, bicycle, or by vehicle
• de-escalate individuals as needed
• inspect security devices and fire-control equipment
• screen visitors and employees
• respond to emergencies
• and, as applicable, provide patient or safety escorts, patient watch, or assistance transporting deceased patients to the morgue.
