The TRIO SSS Peer Mentor role is onsite at the Red Rocks Community College Lakewood Campus in Lakewood, Colorado. Pay is $19.37 per hour. The federally funded TRIO Student Support Services program supports students who are first-generation, income-eligible, and/or have a disability. The mentor helps fellow students navigate college, strengthen academic skills, persist toward graduation, and connect with campus resources. The role builds trusting peer relationships and supports goal setting, progress monitoring, and student success.

What you'll do

• Support students’ transition to and navigation of college
• promote academic success, persistence, and graduation
• help students develop academic skills and habits
• support goal setting and progress monitoring
• connect mentees with campus resources and organizations
• build trusting relationships
• participate in peer mentoring meetings
• complete the required Eduology Peer Mentoring Certification before mentoring
• use tracking and assessment processes.
