The Addiction Counselor role is onsite in Brooklyn Park, MD. Compensation is $25–$30 per hour, based on location, experience, licensure, and skill level. Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health and Concerted Care Group have supported people across the Mid-Atlantic in rebuilding their lives after addiction since 1973. The counselor provides individualized addiction treatment and recovery education while working with an interdisciplinary team to address substance use and co-occurring psychiatric needs. The role supports patient progress through group and individual sessions, care coordination, assessment, discharge planning, and timely documentation; it also includes rotating on-call coverage for patient crises outside business hours a few weeks per year.

What you'll do

• Build individualized treatment alliances
• facilitate addiction treatment groups at the IOP level and individual sessions
• design and deliver recovery education
• lead case management sessions, assessments, goal-setting, and discharge planning
• coordinate with referral sources, families, and providers
• collaborate on co-occurring psychiatric needs
• use Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and trauma-informed approaches
• complete DSM-V and ASAM evaluations
• maintain documentation meeting state and CARF standards
• rotate on-call coverage for crises outside business hours a few weeks per year.
