Veterinary Assistant/Technician/Specialist – Surgery

The Veterinary Assistant/Technician/Specialist – Surgery role is onsite in Stillwater, OK, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and scheduled after-hours emergency duty. Pay is $16–$35 per hour. The role supports Oklahoma State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital and its care for small and large animals. The position provides clinical assistance to professional staff, supports treatments for hospital patients, and works alongside veterinary specialists. It also offers opportunities to participate in one-on-one training of veterinary students while helping deliver patient care.

What you'll do

• Provide clinical assistance to professional staff and treatments to patients
• restrain small and large animals
• administer injections
• place peripheral, central, and urinary catheters
• use veterinary hospital equipment
• lift animals weighing 50 pounds or more onto exam tables and into elevated cages
• participate in student training opportunities.
