Food Service Worker / Utility Worker, Correctional Facility

The Food Service Worker / Utility Worker works onsite in Raleigh, NC, inside the Wake County Detention Center. Compensation is not specified. The role prepares and serves food in a correctional facility and reports to a Food Service Director. The worker supports meal preparation and service while maintaining a clean, food-safe kitchen and following food-handling and sanitation requirements. The role also includes routine kitchen tasks and cleaning to help keep daily food service operations organized.

What you'll do

• Prepare and assist with food preparation according to menus, recipes, and work instructions
• serve food during planned meal schedules
• use kitchen equipment to cook according to recipes
• clean and maintain the workstation
• remove trash, sweep, and mop
• follow food safety, sanitation, handling, and storage regulations
• perform routine kitchen tasks.
