The CNC Swiss Turning Setup Specialist role is onsite in Minneapolis, MN, on the weekend shift. Pay is $32–$35 per hour. Nelson Numeric, a Sussek Machine Company, builds complex, tight-tolerance components for aerospace customers. This specialist sets up and operates multi-axis Swiss machines, proves out and adjusts programs, and verifies production against prints and quality requirements. The role supports reliable production through machine care, process troubleshooting, accurate SPC records, and collaboration and coaching during changeovers.

What you'll do

• Set up, adjust, and operate multi-axis Swiss machines with live tooling
• read, interpret, and edit G and M code
• validate programs and adjust feeds and speeds
• preset and change tooling
• perform daily machine maintenance
• measure and record SPC data using comparators, CMMs, Trimos, and precision gauges
• verify parts to GD&T requirements
• maintain inventory counts
• support process development and prove-outs
• mentor operators during changeovers.

Why this role

Requires 5+ years of CNC machining focused on Swiss turning, high school diploma or equivalent, G and M code fluency, blueprint interpretation, shop math, and GD&T. A two-year machining technology degree or CNC trade program is preferred. Weekend shift offers a 12% premium, 36 hours over three days paid as 40 when all three days are worked, and paid lunch.
