Optometric Technician

Job overview

The Optometric Technician role is full-time and onsite at the Greensboro and Oak Ridge, NC, office locations, with travel between them. Compensation is $17–$20 per hour. Vision Source Eye Center of the Triad provides patient eye care at both locations. The technician supports eye examinations by conducting vision and diagnostic tests, preparing exam rooms and equipment, and maintaining patient records. The role contributes to patient care by helping clinicians assess vision and eye health and by explaining examination or treatment options.

What you'll do

• Administer vision tests based on patient history
• clean equipment and prepare examination rooms
• fit patients with contact lenses or assistive devices
• test visual acuity, depth and color perception, and peripheral vision
• maintain patient eye-health records
• conduct visual field tests or retinal photography
• explain treatment options for vision correction surgery and examinations for conditions such as glaucoma or cataracts
• travel between Greensboro and Oak Ridge offices.
