Operations Manager — Distribution Center

Job overview

The Operations Manager role is onsite in Comstock Park, MI, with compensation of $90,000–$115,000 per year. Weekes Forest Products/WS Building Materials distributes specialty building materials, engineered wood components, and industrial lumber materials. The manager coordinates distribution-center operations to improve performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability. The role leads staff and oversees inventory, order fulfillment, freight, delivery scheduling, safety, quality, and operating costs to support customer service and divisional goals.

What you'll do

• Provide regular safety training
• recommend ways to optimize organizational resources
• supervise order fulfillment and coordinate with warehouse and yard foremen
• manage inventory and product movement
• support procedural compliance
• control operating costs against schedules and budgets
• maintain quality-control and damage-prevention programs
• manage warehouse and yard space
• oversee inbound and outbound freight
• schedule deliveries
• recruit, hire, train, and evaluate staff
• approve and submit timecards.
