The salary range is $142,696–$158,303 per year. General Dynamics Mission Systems develops technology solutions for defense and scientific missions. The engineer shapes technical direction and long-range plans across the Auxiliary and Training portfolio, translating mission needs into integrated strategies and executable work. The role supports simulation, test, training, and support systems for Ohio-class and future Columbia-class submarines while strengthening engineering practices and advising stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain product roadmaps
• identify common needs and reuse opportunities
• assess technology and architecture alternatives
• recommend approaches balancing mission value, risk, affordability, schedule, supportability, and product health
• support emerging demands through concept development, stakeholder analysis, architecture, trade studies, estimates, risk analysis, proposals, and transition planning
• review engineering products
• resolve cross-product issues
• mentor engineers and technical leads
• communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
