Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Food Processing and Packaging

Job overview

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic role is onsite in Terre Haute, Indiana, supporting maintenance operations at a food manufacturing and packaging facility. Compensation is $30–$40 per hour. The work supports safe, efficient production and packaging operations. The mechanic troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production equipment, performs preventive maintenance, and responds to breakdowns to reduce downtime and improve reliability. The role also supports automated systems, equipment modifications, and production needs while following safety, food safety, and company procedures.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain food processing and packaging equipment
• perform preventive maintenance
• diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system issues
• assist with PLC troubleshooting
• support robotic and automated production systems
• perform welding and fabrication
• maintain motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, sensors, and related equipment
• read manuals and schematics
• respond to breakdowns
• communicate repair updates
• follow safety, food safety, and GMP procedures
• maintain an organized work area.

Why this role
