Job overview

The Groundsperson role is onsite in Charlotte, NC, with pay of $17 per hour. Xylem I LLC’s vegetation-management work includes clearing brush and trees along rights-of-way and maintaining safe job sites. The groundsperson supports field crews by clearing vegetation, handling debris and equipment, and helping protect workers and the public around work areas. The role contributes to safe, orderly job completion and may perform storm work when needed.

What you'll do

• Clear brush and undergrowth using hand and powered tools
• load and unload logs, brush, and debris and feed brush into a chipper
• use hand lines to lower limbs and equipment
• clean job sites
• carry and store tools and materials
• set up and remove road signs
• flag traffic
• drive trucks or operate equipment as assigned
• perform basic equipment maintenance
• perform storm work as needed.

Why this role

A driver's license is required. Prior experience in utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military work is preferred. First-aid certification and CPR must be obtained and maintained; travel out of town for storm restoration may be needed.
